In June 2024, I visited Gateway Arch and Hot Springs. These parks were my 13th and 14th national parks. I also visited a local state park in Missouri. I stayed at a campsite in the Mark Twain National Forest. It ended up raining while I was camping, but luckily I stayed dry. The campground did have potable toilets.

Gateway Arch is the only man made national park. When visiting this park, you take a ride up to the top and see views of St. Louis. The ride up is pretty cramped so if you get claustrophobic I wouldn’t recommend riding it.

The next day was a rainy day, but I still wanted to go hiking in Missouri before going to Hot Springs. I hiked Elephant Rocks Braille Trail. This trail is 1.0 mile and takes you through rock formations that actually look like elephants.

Then I did the Shut-Ins Loop Trail. This trail is 2.4 miles in length. The trail offers beautiful views of the flowing water of the shut-ins.

My last trail of the day was Mina Sauk Falls Trail. This trail is a 3 mile loop. It is actually the tallest point in Missouri.

My last day I spent exploring Hot Springs National Park. I did a couple of trails while I was there and walked around downtown.

Thanks for coming along with me on more national parks. See y’all on the next adventure.
Yours truly,
Crews In The Wild
